The Black Alumni Board (BAB) aims to foster and strengthen relationships between Black alumni, students, faculty, and staff across the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Chicago community. BAB is known for its successful Black Light Speaker Series and Black Light Podcast highlighting Black alumni living out ¹û¶³´«Ã½’s mission. Most recently, BAB led efforts to launch and endow the Mamie Till-Mobley Scholarship.

This Black History Month, we honor the legacy of Mamie Till-Mobley, whose courage continues to inspire generations. Through the Mamie Till-Mobley Scholarship, we support students striving to make a difference, just as she did. This scholarship is a powerful way to carry forward her advocacy and dedication to education.

The Black Light Speaker Series is a multi-part series spotlighting ¹û¶³´«Ã½â€™s Black alumni and exploring how they’ve carried ¹û¶³´«Ã½â€™s mission and principles into their communities, work, professional lives, and causes.

The Black Light Podcast shines a light on stories of inspiration from ¹û¶³´«Ã½'s Black alumni, students, faculty, staff, and the greater ¹û¶³´«Ã½ community. Listen to interviews with amazing alumni and experts and delve into deep conversations aiming to inspire change in the Black community and the world around us.

Support the Mamie Till-Mobley Scholarship

In 1971, civil rights activist Mamie Till-Mobley received a Master of Educational Leadership from ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Chicago. We are proud to honor this distinguished alumna with a scholarship named in her memory. The scholarship is awarded to graduates of a Chicagoland high school who are in good academic standing, have an affiliation to a Black and/or African American community via leadership or community service, and have demonstrated financial need.
